When a user downloads an application infected with Joker, the malware steals personal information such as: contact lists, device statistics and more. According to a report by Tatyana Shishkova, an analyst at Kaspersky, the malware is back. The analyst posted updates on the malware appearances on the Google Play Store via her Twitter account. Last year, Joker malware wreaked havoc on the Google Play Store. Google eventually had to remove the applications that contained the malware. It is important to note that Joker malware has regenerated online since 2017 when it first appeared. Surprisingly, some of the applications listed to contain the malware have more than 50,000 downloads on the Google Play Store. Below is a list of applications reported that contain the dangerous Joker malware. Users are advised to check their smartphone and remove the app if one of the following apps has been downloaded. While Google may remove these apps automatically, it's safe to take all precautions. Furthermore, users are advised not to download applications from untrusted sources and developers before downloading and installing an application on their device.
