✔︎Google confirms: Pixel 5, Chromecast and speaker Nest arrive on September 30th
We begin to navigate on sight, the mid-range offer continues to increase rapidly and knowing how to distinguish what really makes sense is not easy. Motorola certainly does not facilitate this work by expanding, as expected , the family with two newcomers: Moto G 5G and Moto G9 Power.
The first is certainly the most interesting, integrates the excellent Snapdragon 750 chip with all its hardware improvements and also comes at an extremely competitive price. In practice, one of the cheapest 5G smartphones since the first day of marketing. The second, Moto G9 Power, instead focuses on its 6,000mAh super battery that promises record autonomy as for its predecessor. Let's take a closer look at them.
MOTO G 5G STOLES THE SCENE
We should ask Motorola why launches so disjointed from each other, when last summer we tried the Moto G 5G Plus the first question that came spontaneously was: and where is the "non Plus" model? Here is the answer, more than 4 months later, motivated by the presence of a chip - Snapdragon 750 - which at that time did not exist on the market and had yet to be presented to the public.
Qualcomm is in fact pushing a lot in this 2020 and smartphone manufacturers can only follow their evolution, also because everyone wants these small precious prices like the SoC mounted on the Moto G 5G. It is not the little brother of the "Plus" in every sense , although on paper it is slightly less powerful, the dimensions appear practically very similar with only 2mm less height, a few millimeters more in width and thickness and even a couple of grams in more (212g versus 207g of the Plus). Then the form factor changes: despite the diagonal of the display is always 6.7 inches, we are talking about a 20: 9 instead of 21: 9.
Standard memories with two cuts, the classic basic with 4 / 64GB and the top with 6 / 128GB, in both cases storage expandable up to 1TB via microSD and the speed of these media not yet specified. Battery as usual more than convincing with 5.000mAh available and certainly not very fast charging, in fact we are talking about the usual 20W already seen on the older brother.

The positioning is interesting: the Moto G 5G will in fact be available in the coming weeks at a list price of 369.99 euros , therefore one hundred euros less than the "Plus" which, however, has from its Snapdragon 765 (slightly better) and a display with refresh rate at 90Hz. Direct competitor of the recently tested Mi 10T Lite and Galaxy A42 , all with this SoC on board, enabled for fifth generation networks and with a more than complete hardware equipment.
MOTO G9 POWER, SUPER BATTERY AND TOO MANY COMPROMISES
On the other hand, the genesis of the second smartphone is different, decidedly less sought after and aimed at keeping the promise of two days of continuous use with a single charge. Not much more, compared to its predecessor it gains in weight and size and goes down a step with the SoC: instead of Snapdragon 665 we find SD662.
The real step backwards however can be seen in the display : from a 6.4 "FHD + of the G8 Power, in fact, it goes to a 6.8" HD +, therefore a wider diagonal but also many fewer pixels. Foolish, as indeed also the choice to reduce the photographic sector and leave in the back only the main 64MP and alongside the usual two, macro (2MP) and depth of field (2MP). There is no longer the wide angle.
It will be positioned a little lower in the light of all these compromises, Motorola speaks of € 249.99 and two colors available: Electric Violet and Metallic Sage.
