A little over a month after the launch of XPS 13 Plus , Dell completes the update of the XPS 13 series with two of the most anticipated products of this second quarter, let's talk in detail about Dell XPS 13 and XPS 13 2-in-1 . Like all the new generation devices proposed by Dell, even the newcomers focus on a hybrid approach that is able to satisfy those who work, and which at the same time guarantees the right flexibility and significant performance in other areas, all with a focus on multi-tasking and productivity.
UPDATE
Let's start with XPS 13 , a notebook that - like the convertible variant - marries the Intel Core 12th gen platform with 15 watt U series processors ; in detail, the US company offers two options: Intel Core i5-1230U or Core i5-1250U, both with 10-core architecture (2 P-Core + 8 E-Core) and Boost frequencies up to 4.4 GHz respectively and 4.7 GHz.
Dell XPS 13 2022
Available with Windows 11 Home or Pro (but also with Ubuntu 20.04), Dell XPS 13 2022 takes up the classic quality and minimalist design of its predecessors; the first thing that catches the eye is definitely the Infinity Edge display with thin bezels on all four sides, a 13.4 "FHD + 500 nit (IPS it is assumed) panel which, at least at the moment, seems to be the only option available.
The notebook is 13.99 mm thick for a weight of 1.17 kilograms , the frame instead is built in aluminum alloy. Moving on to the hardware, the Intel Core 12th gen CPUs are flanked by LPDDR5 5200 memories (from 8 to 32GB), Iris Xe integrated graphics, 512GB or 1TB PCI-E 4.0 (x2) SSD storage and WiFi 6 2x2 connectivity with Bluetooth 5.2 ; there is no lack of Thunderbolt 4 support (2 ports with DP and Power Delivery), everything is powered by a 51 WHr battery which, according to Dell, guarantees 12 hours of autonomy.
Dell XPS 13 2-in-1
The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 , which will be available in the summer, maintains the same hardware platform (more or less) but focuses on versatility and portability thanks to XPS Folio which in laptop mode allows you to adjust the display / tablet with three angles: 100 °, 112.5 ° and 125 °. The frame is always made of aluminum, the thickness is 7.4 mm while the weight varies according to the models: it starts from 736 grams (tablet only) to which the 560 grams of XPS Folio must be added.
Apart from the processors used, the same as XPS 13, we note that the convertible will offer 8 or 16GB of LPDDR4X 4266 RAM , the storage will always be PCI-E 4.0 (max 1TB) but with x4 interface not x2 as on the notebook variant. Connectivity is also superior: in addition to WiFi 6E we find a 5G module that guarantees the best user experience in terms of mobility. Last note about the 13 "(3: 2) 3k display , obviously with touch support, HDR400 certification and 100% sRGB coverage.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICES
Dell XPS 13 with Intel Core 12th gen is already available on the manufacturer's website (for now only US) at a base price of $ 999 ; Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will arrive in the summer, the price has not been disclosed at the moment.
